Green bean casserole is good anytime.  Why wait for a holiday to serve this easy, delicious side dish?  Around here, we don’t!  Give my version a try.  I think you’ll be pleased.

2 cans green beans, drained (I like French cut, but use what you like)

1 small can mushrooms, drained

1 can cream of mushroom soup

½ cup milk

1/3 cup sour cream

½ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp pepper

1 ½ cups French Fried onions or Cheddar Fried Onions

1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese

In bowl, mix soup, milk, sour cream, garlic powder, and pepper.  Add green beans and mushrooms, stirring to combine.

Place half the mixture in a 1 ½ quart baking dish.  Sprinkle with cheese and ¾ cup fried onions.  Repeat.

Bake at 350°F for 20 – 25 minutes, uncovered

NOTES:  Feel free to change the cheese to any flavor your family will enjoy.  I think Monterey Jack or Pepper Jack cheese would be outstanding.
